The School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering aims to train students to become experts in the rapidly-growing aerospace and mechanical engineering industry. From the year 2000, the departments of aerospace, mechanical engineering and mechanical design had been merged into School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering.

In the school, an ABEEK (Accreditation Board of Engineering Education in Korea) program is offered with two majors which are aerospace engineering and mechanical engineering. As a general engineering program, three majors are also offered, which are mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, and aircraft systems engineering.

From 2007, all students are mandatorily enrolled to take ABEEK program during the freshman years and take either of the majors when they enter into the sophomore level. Afterwards, students have twice chances to change their major to another.

In the ABEEK program, before entering into junior level, the students may change their major to the other or transfer to the general program. Before entering into the senior level, the students have one more chance to transfer to the general program. In the general program, which commences from the junior level, the students may choose their major when they enter into the junior level. Before entering into the senior level, the students have one more chance to change their major to another within the general program.

The courses related to the professional liberal arts and MSC(Mathematics, Sciences, and Computers) are offered during the freshman years. Major engineering courses are offered in the years of upper level according to the accrediting system by each major program. After fulfillments of requirements in each major program, batchelor's degree in engineering is accredited. The students after graduation are mostly employed by major companies in the Aerospace, Automobile, Shipbuilding, and other related industries. Master's and doctoral programs are also offered for graduates in our school.
