The Air Transport Major Course is Korea’s only university program designed to foster experts in designing, managing or operating air space and air transport management systems, providing the foundations for civilian and military air transport services at home and abroad. This course also fosters civilian air traffic controllers according to ICAO standards through its Air Traffic Control Training Institute, a specialized training agency designated by the Ministry of Construction and Transportation.

The Air Transport Major Course is designed to foster high level talent in the field of air transport by providing a comprehensive program integrating both the theoretical and practical education of the expert knowledge and skills required for air traffic control and air transport services.

To that end, it teaches curricular subjects that build expertise in such fields of air transport service as air traffic control, flight operation management, and airline and airport control and management. Students may obtain the government license for air traffic controllers and flight operation managers even before graduation by taking additional courses offered by the Air Traffic Control Institute. Graduates may advance into the Ministry of Construction and Transportation, airlines, airport maintenance services, air transport businesses, and transportation research institutes.
